Half Empty or Half Full? Are you Asking the Wrong Question?

Author: George Haralampopoulos

Category: Personal Growth

Is the glass half empty or half full?

An optimist may say, “Half full.”

A pessimist may say, “Half empty.”

Years ago, during a meeting, I pointed to a half-full glass of water on the table and asked…
“Is the glass half empty or half full?”

The woman next to me smiled and said…
“It’s refillable.”

Aha!
That one word created an immediate mindset shift.
Yes! We can always refill it.

So, WHAT IF we change the question?

In business and in life, we all face difficult decisions, challenges, and roadblocks.
And most of the time, we react based on what we see, on what is.

But… WHAT IF we learned how to pause — and look at the situation from a different angle?

Here are some examples:

Sales are down?
WHAT IF this becomes our record-breaking month?
Get excited. Make a list. Take focused and relentless action!

Falling behind on a critical deadline?
WHAT IF we deliver early — and absolutely impress our client?

Struggling with weight?
WHAT IF you lose 10 pounds — and unlock new energy, health, and vitality?

When we shift our focus, we create new possibilities as we free our mindset to explore.

Action starts and progress follows.

Remember… 😎

The glass isn’t half empty.

It’s not half full.

It’s refillable.

That’s always better, for taking action, achieving progress and getting results!

I look at the big picture, that amount water would quench my thirst. How lucky are we to have clean water to drink. What can we do help others to have clean drinking water survive.
