Track your Progress, Daily

“If you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it.” ~ Peter Drucker

There is an effective yet fairly simple way to continually raise the bar in professional performance. Track your progress daily. I have found four areas to track that help lead to improved overall performance:

  1. Your daily tasks against your key daily outcomes
  2. Your weekly outcomes against your monthly goals
  3. Your monthly goals against your quarterly goals
  4. Your quarterly goals against your yearly goals…

…for you and for your Team, if you happen to lead one. And to expand on this a little, ideally, your yearly goals are part of an inspiring vision that you are striving to achieve. Many of my clients use a variety of Key Performance Metrics (KPMs) that help them stay on track with their goals.
